OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Our Alzheimer’s Research UK Thames Valley network public event is titled ‘The journey from Reading to Oxford: Building roads to save memories’. We will show you behind the scenes of dementia research labs in Oxford and Reading. Scientists from our Thames Valley Research Network will give you an insight into what life is like inside a busy lab, and will be showing examples of their experiments and work. Jane Thomas, an Oxford poet, will be performing a piece that she has written specially for this event. Everyone will then be on hand to answer your questions during the live Q&A session.
The event will take place online on Zoom, and it is free to attend. It is open to everyone, and no previous knowledge of dementia or research is required.
