Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. A.Roger Ekirch is the author of six books and a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech. His writing has been translated into ten languages. Trained in early American history at Johns Hopkins University, he has also published on the history of Western sleep. His essays have appeared in the New York Times, the Guardian, Harper’s Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal, for which he is also a regular book reviewer. The inaugural Paul Mellon Fellow at Cambridge University, he is a former Guggenheim Fellow and the recipient of four fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities. He serves on the board of editors of Sleep Health: The Journal of the National Sleep Foundation and is a fellow of the Society of American Historians at Columbia University.
