Since 2018, we have seen a growth of Latino Republicans running for and winning at both the state and federal levels in places that one would not expect. This lecture will explain who they are, where they are running, who is winning, and their impact once in office.
Jason Casellas specializes in American politics, with specific research and teaching interests in Latino politics, legislative politics, and state and local politics. He is the author of Latino Representation in State Houses and Congress (New York: Cambridge University Press). He is the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards, including a Princeton Fellowship, an American Political Science Association Fellowship, a Ford Motor Company Fellowship, the Samuel DuBois Cook Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke University, and a United States Studies Centre Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Sydney (Australia).
