OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
This half-day symposium will bring together researchers, academics and curators to investigate the relationship between artistic creation and politics during the years of the Cold War. It will explore the role played by artists in the political discourse of the time, and the way their works reflected socio-political contexts.
This event is linked to the exhibition A.R. PENCK: I THINK IN PICTURES on view in Gallery 8 until 3rd November 2019 and will be followed by a tour of the exhibition by curator Dr Lena Fritsch.
To book please use our ticketing website tickets.ox.ac.uk/webstore/shop/viewItems.aspx?cg=ash&c=conf.
The event is free for students upon presentation of a valid student ID and student tickets can be booked via Eventbrite here www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cold-war-the-arts-tickets-74959043517.
