On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

This is a student-led group running informal meetings allowing members of the University to offer presentations, ideas and questions relating to art and visual culture across all geographies and time periods. We are interested in drawing methodologically from a range of disciplines, and leading example-driven discussions of abstract ideas. The sessions are structured via one or two short student presentations on an idea and/or visual source, followed by an informal discussion. We will also be organising handling sessions and museum visits, taking advantage of Oxford’s close connections with its surrounding cultural institutions.
We welcome students at all levels, from undergraduate to doctorate, and across all disciplines, including Anthropology, Archaeology, Literature, and Museum Studies. If you are interested in any forms of art or visual culture – or you think your own methods or sources have something to offer to visual culture studies (we love criticism) – you are encouraged to join us.
We meet weekly on Wednesdays at the History Faculty, unless otherwise indicated.
Please join the mailing list for updates and pre-term circulation including lists of speakers and presentations – send a message to mailto:ruksar.hussain@hmc.ox.ac.uk
