A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Chris Patten is a former British politician, who served as the 28th and last Governor of Hong Kong until the territory’s handover to China. He was formerly a Conservative MP and is now serving as a crossbench member of the House of Lords. He has built up a wealth of knowledge from the various posts he has served in, ranging from Chairman of the Conservative Party (1990-1992), to EU Commissioner (1999-2004), and Chairman of the BBC Trust (2011-2014). He is currently Chancellor of the University of Oxford, a position he has held since 2003.
