Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Simukai Chigudu is Associate Professor of African Politics at the Oxford Department of International Development and Fellow of St Antony’s College, Oxford.
He is currently writing a book called, When Will We Be Free? Living in the Shadow of Empire and the Struggle for Decolonisation, (forthcoming with The Bodley Head and Crown, 2024). This book will combine memoir, political history and cultural criticism to show how colonialism continues to shape politics, society and culture in Africa and in Britain and to explore what it really means to decolonise.
In this talk, he will speak with Dr Catherine Grasham on decolonising knowledge production in Africa, colonial legacies and Rhodes Must Fall.
